What is Humanoid Robot Combat?
Humanoid Robot Combat is a competitive format where human-controlled humanoid robots face each other in structured combat matches. Combining robotics, engineering, strategy, and live competition, it turns advanced humanoid technology into a new form of spectator sport. Rather than being fully autonomous, the robots are operated by human teams, making each match a test of both machine performance and human skill, decision-making, and control.
How does the competition work?
CyberHero x Riyadh features a series of one-on-one humanoid robot fights, with robots competing through effective strikes, knockdowns and overall performance. The competition is designed to showcase both the athletic capabilities of humanoid robots and the technology behind them, including movement, balance, reaction speed and combat strategy. Detailed match rules and scoring will be announced before the event.
How is the competition scored?
Matches are HP-based with each robot starting at the same amount. For every hit they receive, a certain amount will be deducted depending on the affected area. When a robot reaches 0 HP, they’re considered to be knocked out and are replaced by another robot from their team. The match continues until all robots on a team have been knocked out or all 7 rounds have concluded.
Are the robots autonomous or controlled by humans?
Humanoid robots can operate using different combinations of human control and autonomous software. Depending on the fight configuration, movements and combat strategies can involve teleoperation, programmed behaviours, autonomous decision-making or a combination of these technologies. This is one of the most exciting areas of humanoid robotics today: increasingly capable hardware working together with advances in Physical AI.
Is robot fighting safe?
Safety is a fundamental part of the event. The robots compete within a controlled arena, with professional technical teams supervising all fights. Safety protocols and technical controls are in place throughout the event to protect the audience, staff and participating teams. The objective is competitive entertainment and technological demonstration—not the deliberate destruction of the robots.
Will the event be live-streamed?
No. CyberHero x Riyadh will not be live-streamed. The event will be professionally recorded, with highlights and other content released after the show across official CyberHero channels.
